Greetings Bastion Bobcats and Falkland Wolves It's BOOK FAIR TIME!
Bastion Bobcats we have joined with our sister school library Falkland Elementary to bring them the excitement of a Scholastic Bookfair and help them get new books into their library.
In fact, over 50% OF THEIR LIBRARY BOOKS ARE OVER TWENTY YEARS OLD!
Bastion Bobcats and Falkland Wolves we simply have to get new books into the Falkland Elementary library (see below for more information).
Take Action to Support the Falkland Elementary Library:

- Monday, Feb. 27th, 8-3pm
- Wed., March 1st, 2:30-4:30
- Thursday, March 2nd, 8:00-3:00
- Friday, March 3rd, 8:00-3:00
- Digital / online sales Mon., Feb. 27th - Sat., March 4th, until midnight!

Sister School Falkland Elementary Library NEEDS NEW BOOKS!
Teacher-librarian Ms. Christy White writes the following:
Falkland School is thrilled to be having its very first Book Fair in years! Students, staff, and parents are all catching on to the excitement! While our school library does have some great books, unfortunately, a huge percentage of our books need a refresh. In fact, over 50% of the books in our library have a publication date that is more than 20 years old*. We are hoping that the money we raise from Book Fair sales will help us give our library book collection the refresh it needs to get more books into the hands of the amazing Falkland students. One of the challenges of keeping books current at Falkland is that Falkland School has students in Grades K-8, so we need books that cover a huge range of reading abilities and student interests.

- Majority of the Falkland library books are published before the year 2000 = 22+ years old!
- Only 652 books published in the past ten years.
Falkland Elementary Library Refresh Goals:
- Increase our guided reader collection (currently we only have 2 small bins of Everybody Reader books)
- Increase our graphic novels
- Complete sets of popular book series (many have missing volumes or we only have the first 1 or 2 of larger sets)
- Increase our holiday thematic sections:
- Christmas (currently just 1 book published in 2012, the rest before 2005)
- Valentine's Day (currently just 2 books!)
- Easter (currently just 7 books!)
Bastion Bobcats and Falkland Wolves let's get going and strive for Bolder, Prouder, Stronger readers at both of our schools by reading everyday, and, especially for this week, support this book fundraiser to refresh the Falkland Wolves' library.

- The Falkland Wolves library is already at $1,800. Hooray!!!!!!!!
